Are 'Waist Trainers' A Waste of Time?
Waist training with a tight corset to create a smaller waist and bigger hips has become popular, but it doesn’t come without warnings. Waist training can be dangerous, and it causes a lot of discomforts, a weakened core, weakened pelvic floor, and painful nerve damage called Meralgia paresthetica.
According to Medical News Today:
“Waist training is similar to fad diets and many fitness fads. It may provide some temporary waist thinning, but it ultimately does not provide a safe, long-term solution to weight or fat loss. Long-term use of waist trainers can lead to organ damage. It can also lead to digestive issues, such as acid reflux.”
While wearing a corset for a special occasion is okay. It is probably not a good idea to wear a corset every day. AND.... UNNNnnnn…fortunately, No matter what your favorite celebrity tells you, the only natural way to get those curves without surgery is through diet and exercise.
• Waistline. To get a sleeker waistline, aim for exercises that tone the oblique muscles, such as crunches and planks.
• Hips. Exercises such as squats, side lunges, and leg raises can help to trim your hips.
• Butt. To tone your butt, try activities such as climbing stairs, hiking, and doing yoga.
🖤BUT🖤
You can create the illusion of an hourglass shape with curve-fitting clothing, Geo-metrical shapes, waist accessories and a well-fitted push-up bra.
It is estimated that 85% of women are wearing the wrong bra shape and size. Most lingerie stores will do a fitting for free. A cami plunge-style bra will create the illusion of added curviness by adding focus to the cleavage area where the waist is the smallest.
Pencil skirts with waistbands are hip-hugging miracles. If you have a bit of a tummy, high-rise skirts with added shape-wear work great. Choose a fabric that clings to the body.
If you have larger hips reach for a wide belt 3-6 inches, it will make the waist look smaller.
If you have a thinner frame, consider close-fitting low-rise clothing, it creates a smaller waist but creates an illusion of an even smaller waist, making the hips and legs look more prominent. Baggy jeans make the butt look flatter than it is.
And my favorite fashion illusion are V-neck wrap dresses with neutral-colored shoes. The wrap, like a belt, creates a thinning waist, flows over hips, and the neutral nude shoe will add the illusion of never-ending legs.
